Bisphenol AThis second polycarbonate glass formula is polycarbonate bisphenol A which is similar, but slightly different from the first. As noticed, the formula also has two hexagon shapes with lines in them. These are phenol groups. They consist of carbon, hydrogen and sometimes oxygen in them. If you break down the formula name, it literally means two phenol, which are the two hexagons inside. Like the first formula, this formula has all covalent bonds in it which I call a covalent bonding formula. If you do the math to this formula, it will have filled all of the element's needs in having 8 valence electrons making it a completed and satisfied formula. Our mentor recommended this type of polycarbonate glass because he said it was the easiest to understand for us and at our level of chemistry.
